Mobile mosques for 'Special Military Operation' presented in Russia

At the 9th Congress of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, held at Kazan Expo, organizers presented mobile mosques designed for soldiers taking part in the 'Special Military Operation' (SVO), Business Online reports.

The President of Tatarstan was shown these mobile mosques, intended for Muslim soldiers fighting in Ukraine.

According to the publication, the interior of the 'Bukhanka' van has been adapted to provide comfortable conditions for performing prayer and holding spiritual discussions: it has been waterproofed, soundproofed, and thermally insulated; the floors have been leveled and covered with carpeting; the cabin is adorned with mihrabs and shamails (Islamic calligraphy and decorations).

At the request of military imams, the mobile mosques have been equipped with air conditioners, a mini-library, electronic warfare protection systems, and a compass for determining the qibla (the direction of Mecca used by Muslims during prayer).

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Mufti of Russia explained when Muslims are permitted to pray in churches of the Russian Orthodox Church.
