Pope and Patriarch Bartholomew discuss upcoming visit of pontiff to Turkey

On May 30, 2025, at the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Pope Leo XIV discussed the details of the official visit of the head of the RCC to Turkey. This is reported by the website ec-patr.org.

The pontiff plans to visit Turkey at the end of this year.

The Ecumenical Patriarch and the Pope also discussed other current church issues.

As stated on the official website of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, «the atmosphere of this second meeting was very friendly and cordial».

As reported by the UOJ, Pope Leo allowed the OCU to access the relics of Saint Nicholas.
