On July 22, 2025, Serhiy (Epifaniy) Dumenko met with the Ukrainian ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, at his residence.
It was reported that the two discussed “international advocacy to strengthen support for our state in the context of Russian aggression, as well as support abroad for Ukrainian forcibly displaced persons.”
Dumenko also awarded Bodnar the Order of Saint George the Victorious “in recognition of his diplomatic activity.” Dumenko did not clarify what connection a church decoration might have to diplomatic service.
It should be recalled that, according to the provisions of the Tomos, the OCU does not have the right to establish parishes outside Ukraine and is not authorized to provide support there.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Yelensky discussed “pastoral care” abroad with the OCU.
