Annual procession in honor of Mother of God taking place in Odesa Eparchy

On August 1, 2025, at the Nativity of the Theotokos Church in the village of Yevhenivka, Odesa Eparchy of the UOC, the annual Theotokos procession began, which finishes on August 3. This was reported by the eparchy's press service.
Before the start of the procession, Bishop Alipy of Tarutyno, with the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, led the solemn prayer service in the church of the village of Yevhenivka.
The hierarch, clergy, and numerous believers also prayed for the repose of Archimandrite Kyprian, who was the founder of this tradition.
The Theotokos procession will conclude on August 3 at the Nativity of the Theotokos Women's Monastery near the village of Oleksandrivka – on the anniversary of the miraculous apparition of the Most Holy Theotokos in this monastery.
"Next – a prayer service with an akathist near the chapel of St. Nicholas, Borydino, Berezino, Tarutyne, Maloyaroslavets Druhyi, Vynohradivka, Yarove, Divine Liturgy in the village of Svobodne, Dmytrivka, and the monastery's holy gates," noted the UOC Eparchy.
As reported by the UOJ, UOC eparchies held processions on Baptism of Rus’ Day.
