His Beatitude: Humility and love make a human godlike

On August 3, 2025, the Archimandrite of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, reminded the faithful that humility makes a human godlike. This was reported by the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra website.
His Beatitude performed the Divine Liturgy in the Lavra's Church of St. Agapitus of the Caves. During the service, the Gospel story of the miraculous feeding of five thousand people with five loaves and two fish was read.
In his sermon, His Beatitude explained the theological meaning of this miracle and emphasized that the Church is a place where a person receives everything necessary for salvation and inner peace.
"In the Church, everything is given so that our life may be full and happy. In it, the Lord grants people all the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the priests," said the Primate of the UOC.
According to him, this mutual need for each other humbles us and reminds us that we are children of one God the Father. "Humility and love make a human godlike," emphasized Metropolitan Onuphry.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry led the Liturgy at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
