Patronal feast celebrated at Panteleimon Monastery in Odesa

On August 9, 2025, the Holy Panteleimon Monastery in Odesa held celebrations in honor of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon – the heavenly patron of the monastery, the Odesa Eparchy Telegram channel reported.

On the eve of the feast, an all-night vigil was served. On the day of the saint’s commemoration, the Divine Liturgy, with the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, was led by Archbishop Diodor of Yuzhne. Concelebrating with him were Archbishop Viktor of Artsyz, the monastery’s abbot Bishop Anastasy of Ovidiopol, Rector of the Odesa Theological Seminary Archpriest Dimitry, Abbot of the Holy Protection Monastery Archimandrite Meletios, visiting clergy, and the brethren of the monastery.

During the service, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine and for the spiritual well-being of the people. After the Liturgy, a festive moleben was served before the reliquary containing a portion of the relics of Saint Panteleimon, followed by a procession around the monastery grounds. The faithful were able to venerate the relic and receive a blessing from the clergy.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Odesa Eparchy condemned the authorities’ examination of the relics of the Venerable Fathers of the Kyiv Caves.
