Construction of new UOC church launched in Kharytonivka, Zhytomyr region

On December 4, 2025, on the Feast Day of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos, Metropolitan Nikodim of Zhytomyr and Novohrad-Volynsk performed the rite of laying the foundation of a UOC church of the "Joy of All Who Sorrow" icon of the Mother of God in the village of Kharytonivka, Zhytomyr region, reports the eparchy's press service.
It is noted that the church will also be dedicated to all Orthodox warriors.
"The future church will be built thanks to the efforts and blessed labors of the founder - Archpriest Valeriy Ditkovsky, who zealously and lovingly cares for the spiritual development of the community," writes the Zhytomyr Eparchy.
According to the eparchy's press service, this event "became an important step in strengthening parish life and affirming the Orthodox faith in the Zhytomyr region".
As reported by the UOJ, St. Spyridon's Church was consecrated in the Tryhirya Monastery, Zhytomyr region.
