Patriarch Bartholomew not to go to Davos due to "commitments"

In the current year, 2026, Patriarch Bartholomew declined to attend the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, where major businessmen and politicians gather. As an explanation, media outlets close to the Phanar cite "commitments" undertaken by the Patriarch of Constantinople. More detailed reasons for the refusal are not provided.
Patriarch Bartholomew regularly delivered speeches at the Davos forum, usually dedicated to climate protection.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Patriarch Bartholomew was awarded for climate protection and ecumenical efforts.
