On March 12, 2026, on Thursday of the 3rd week of Great Lent, Metropolitan Ephrem of Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol performed monastic tonsure at the Intercession Women's Monastery of the UOC in Kryvyi Rih, reports the press service of the Kryvyi Rih Eparchy.
During the Divine service, the eparchy's confessor Viktor Symoniuk, the abbot of the men's monastery of the Holy Martyr Volodymyr, Archimandrite Volodymyr (Neroba), as well as the clergy of the eparchy prayed together with the hierarch.
Metropolitan Ephrem performed the tonsure of the senior sister of the monastery – novice Euphrosyne (Bondar). In monasticism, the newly tonsured received the name Emilia – in honor of Emilia of Cappadocia.
The bishop entrusted nun Emilia to the spiritual care of the eparchial confessor, Archpriest Viktor Symoniuk.
At the end of the tonsure, the archpastor addressed the newly tonsured with instruction and blessed her for further monastic labors and spiritual work.
As the UOJ wrote, Metropolitan Pavel performed the tonsure of a new monk for the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
