On March 31, 2026, MP Ihor Huz made a radical appeal at a session of the Volyn Regional Council to "intensify work on cleansing the Volyn land of the Moscow Church." The politician also posted a video of his speech on his Facebook page. During the session, 41 deputies supported an appeal to the country's leadership about the inadmissibility of extending lease agreements with the UOC.

Huz emphasized that the contract for the use of the St. Nicholas Myltsi Monastery expired as early as January 1 of the current year; however, the state has still not returned the property to its full control. He reminded that judicial disputes over the Domition Cathedral in Volodymyr lasted 22 months, and called for acting "in unison" this time so that the Myltsi Monastery would become "the cradle of Ukrainian Orthodoxy in Polissia" under the auspices of the OCU.

The politician subjected the Zymne Monastery to particularly harsh criticism, as it "seems to him that there are all grounds to assert that this monastery has the status of being affiliated with the Russian Federation."

The deputy called the signing of 50-year lease agreements for the Zymne Monastery in 2020 a "betrayal of Ukraine's interests" and a "shameful story" requiring immediate intervention by special services.

"If in 2020 certain scoundrels had not signed 50-year lease agreements in Zymne, Nyzkynychi and so on, we would now return these shrines to Ukrainian Orthodoxy," the deputy claimed.

As an example of successful struggle, Huz cited the situation in Korets, Rivne region, and expressed hope for a similar result in Zymne as early as April-May. The politician urged deputies to remember that today a "spiritual front" is open and their common task is the liberation of Ukrainian shrines from the control of the Church, which he considers an instrument of "spiritual enslavement by the RF."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that during Dumenko's "service", Huz threatened nuns of the Zymne Convent.
