On June 22, 2026, it became known that Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv had been hospitalized. The Cherkasy Eparchy reported that the bishop was sent to the hospital by cardiologists.
The doctors issued the archpastor an urgent referral requiring his immediate stay in hospital under the supervision of specialists. In this regard, the diocese called on the flock to intensify their prayers for the hierarch’s recovery. “We ask the Lord to strengthen the health of our dear bishop!” the statement said.
As the UOJ reported, the Cherkasy hierarch spoke at the UN about the unlawful mobilization of UOC clergy.
