Kyiv declares July 3 day of mourning after Russian attack

July 3 has been declared a Day of Mourning in Kyiv for those killed in the Russian attack on the capital, which claimed the lives of at least 13 people, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, national flags will be lowered on all municipal buildings in the city. The authorities also recommended that state institutions and privately owned facilities do the same.

In addition, all entertainment events in the capital have been banned on July 3. The decision was made in memory of those who died in the strike on the city.

The Kyiv mayor noted that the search-and-rescue operation in a damaged residential building in the Darnytskyi district is ongoing. According to him, people may still be trapped under the rubble.

Earlier reports said that residential buildings and city infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged in the Russian attack on Kyiv. Rescuers and municipal services are working at the sites.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a UOC church in Kyiv was damaged by shelling.
