Kyiv declares July 7 day of mourning following RF attack

Tuesday, July 7, is declared Day of Mourning in Kyiv in memory of those killed as a result of the massive Russian attack on the capital, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the publication, this was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. He stated that on this day flags will be flown at half-mast on all municipal buildings in the city.

City authorities also recommended flying state flags at half-mast on buildings of both state and private ownership. In addition, entertainment events are prohibited in the capital on July 7.

Klitschko reported that search and rescue operations are ongoing in damaged buildings in the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts. Rescuers are searching for people under the rubble.

According to the latest data, 11 people were killed in Kyiv as a result of the attack, and another 46 were injured. Among the victims are three children.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a UOC church in Kyiv was damaged due to the shelling.
