TRC officers abduct UOC monk in Kyiv

In Kyiv’s Holosiiv district, TRC officers and police abducted Hierodeacon Gerasim (Kurkchi). This was reported by the Pershyi Kozatskyi Telegram channel.
On July 8, the monk brought groceries to his mother, but as he was leaving the building, he was met by law enforcement officers and military enlistment staff. Fr. Gerasim’s relatives said the hierodeacon had been unlawfully detained.
After the abduction, the cleric was taken from the capital to Bila Tserkva. Shortly afterward, communication with him was cut off for a long period. Only the following morning did it become known that the hierodeacon had been transferred to the Desna training center, where he is currently being held.
Fr. Gerasim’s relatives called on the faithful to support him spiritually, praying that the Lord would help, strengthen, and preserve him.
As the UOJ reported, the secretary of the Rivne Eparchy called on believers to save their priests.
