In 2025, 5,957 boys were named Muhammad. Noah ranked second, followed by Leo in third place. The rest of the top ten included Luca, Arthur, Oliver, George, Oscar, Theodore, and Freddie.
Among newborn girls, Olivia retained its position as the most popular name for the tenth consecutive year. The name was given to 2,386 girls during the past year. Lily moved up to second place, overtaking Amelia.
The top ten girls’ names also included Isla, Florence, Freya, Poppy, Elsie, Ivy, and Isabella.
The rankings were compiled using official birth registration data for England and Wales for the 2025 calendar year. The statistical agency published lists of the 100 most popular names for both boys and girls.
As the UOJ reported, Britain barred a Finnish lawmaker known for opposing LGBT ideology from transiting through the country.
