UOC church consecrated in Ivanivka, Odesa Region

Metropolitan Alexiy of Balta and Ananiv performed the great consecration of the Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in the settlement of Ivanivka, Odesa Region, according to a report by Andrii Kravchuk on Facebook.

Following the consecration, which took place on July 11, 2026, the feast day of the “Three-Handed” Icon of the Mother of God, the metropolitan celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church.

Concelebrating with the hierarch were Archpriest Viacheslav Tkachenko, dean of the Rozdilna District; Archpriest Yaroslav Ushchapovskyi, dean of the Ivanivka District and rector of the parish; Archpriest Mykhailo Liashyk, dean of the Shyriaieve District; and clergy of the Balta Eparchy.

At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Alexiy presented church awards of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and certificates of recognition from the Balta Eparchy to benefactors of the parish.

Closing the celebrations, Fr. Yaroslav thanked Metropolitan Alexiy for the shared prayer and for consecrating the church. On behalf of the clergy and parishioners, he presented the hierarch with an icon of the Tikhvin Mother of God.

As the UOJ previously reported, the OCU seized the Intercession Church of the Balta Eparchy in the village of Myrony.
