On August 5, 2026, the feast day of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God, Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna visited the Ascension of the Lord parish in the village of Ispas, Vyzhnytsia deanery, where he performed the rite of consecration of the altar of the summer church, a UOJ correspondent reports.

The hierarch was welcomed by the parish rector, Mitred Archpriest Vitaliy Skorobohach, clergy, and parishioners. Following the consecration, Metropolitan Meletiy celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

During the service, the hierarch and clergy prayed for peace in Ukraine, deliverance from the enemy, the preservation of the lives of those who have lost their homes, and God’s blessing upon those who provide assistance to people in need.

At the end of the service, Metropolitan Meletiy congratulated the clergy and faithful on the consecration of the altar and addressed them with an archpastoral word of instruction.

Parish rector Archpriest Vitaliy Skorobohach thanked Metropolitan Meletiy for his archpastoral visit and the clergy and parishioners for their joint prayer and participation in the festive service.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Metropolitan Theodore of Mukachevo consecrated a new church at the monastery in the village of Rakoshyno.
