On September 6, 2026, a U.S. delegation consisting of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Kyiv. The visit is focused on peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.
Volodymyr Zelensky met Trump’s special envoys on Sophia Square and then took them inside St. Sophia Cathedral. Addressing Kushner, the president said this was the famous historic shrine he had heard about. A museum staff member told the guests that the cathedral was built in the 11th century.
After visiting the cathedral, the parties headed to the Presidential Office for talks.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna said she was praying for Zelensky and Putin to agree to the U.S. peace plan.
