Yermak takes Yelensky to USA to speak about freedom of faith in Ukraine
The head of the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) told American senators about the high level of freedom of religion in Ukraine.
Head of the OP Andriy Yermak included the DESS head Viktor Yelensky in the Ukrainian delegation to the USA, reports the website of the Office of the President.
On June 4, 2025, during a meeting in Washington with 23 US senators, Yelensky, along with Pastor Mykhailo Brytsyn from the Protestant Church in Melitopol, spoke about the religious situation in Ukraine. In his speech, the DESS head highlighted violations of freedom of faith in the occupied territories: the destruction of churches and the persecution of priests.
Let us recall that when announcing the visit, Yermak stated that he intends to discuss in the USA "Russian propaganda related to Church issues".
